This year marks Fliegl's 25th anniversary. At the IAA Commercial Vehicles, the trailer manufacturer celebrates by showcasing its Twin Line.

For a quarter of a century, Fliegl has actively taken part in shaping the development of commercial vehicles. CEO Helmut Fliegl states: "We are proud to celebrate our anniversary in 2016 during IAA Commercial Vehicles. However, we are looking ahead to shaping the future of freight traffic." With regards to curtain sided semitrailers, the company consistently counts on its biaxial strategy: "Throughout the industry, more and more enterprises realize that biaxial transportation can easily account for the lion's share. A third axis usually only uses up money and loading capacity", CEO Fliegl points out.

RoadRunner and MegaRunner

RoadRunner and MegaRunner represent Fliegl's Twin Line at IAA Commercial Vehicles, each as Twin 200 with 20,000 kilograms of axle load. The front walls are furnished with the Fliegl Heavy Blocker, a steel ram protection approximately 140 millimetres in height. As a new edition with outside blinds, Fliegl's Heavy Blocker rear cross ram protection premieres at IAA Commercial Vehicles (hall 27, booth C29, outside area K42).

Another IAA premiere is a new coil trough cover with two half width elements that have replaced the conventional lid. According to number and width of the loaded coils, gaps which are too large for standard coverings may be closed by these narrow lids. The resulting areas in front and rear of the coils allow for the steel coils to reach them as flush as possible. This results in the advantage of the driver operating on a level treading surface when securing and releasing cargo – an alteration that eliminates the danger of stumbling or buckling due to exposed trough.

Considerably more Payload

Fliegl's new swap body trailer ZWP offers even more loading capacity and comes along with a completely new chassis: The side members are not running parallel to one another but approach each other by and by. Considerable more payload is the result and advantage of this new V-stream frame construction. In addition, the weight of the new Fliegl ZWP has been reduced by approximately 500 kilograms compared to its predecessor, bringing its basic empty vehicle weight up to roughly two tons.

Even though it has already been presented at bauma, the world's largest trade fair in the construction industry, the Greenlight series' low loader DTS 300 is nevertheless on of Fliegl's highlights in 2016. CEO Helmut Fliegl explains: "By usage of high-strength speciality steel and through chassis modifications, we succeeded in maximising loading capacity." The new Greenlight offers a loading potential of 24.5 tons.
