The Mobileye 6 series functions as the driver's third eye. The intelligent vision sensor attached to the inside of the windshield is the retrofit kit’s focal point.
Added is a small display, which transmits the warning signals to the driver in real time. There is a collision warning for vehicles driving in front – including motorcycles – and even for pedestrians and cyclists. Furthermore, the system monitors the safety distance as well as the velocity. This is possible through traffic sign identification.
Mobileye takes this one step further with the Mobileye Shield+. The company has hereby declared war on the driver’s blind spot. With this specifically for trucks, buses and commercial vehicles developed solution, more multivision smart sensors are added. These are positioned at appropriate points of the vehicle to eliminate the blind spot.
Moreover, if the Mobileye Shield+ is hooked up to a telematics system, the real time data can be collected and passed on accordingly. This way, warnings can be displayed on interactive road maps.
