Ford introduces the completely newly developed turbo diesel family Ford Ecoblue for its passenger- and commercial vehicle series.
The two-liter four-cylinder is available for order for the Transit- and Custom series from now on. It replaces the previous 2.2-liter TDCi-units. The new range of services: 77 kW (105 PS), 95 kW (130 PS) and 125 kW (170 PS). Thanks to SCR-technology, the engine complies with the Euro-6 exhaust regulations, which became effective for lightweight commercial vehicles in September 2016, and compared to Euro-5 reduces the nitrogen oxide emission by 55 percent. The consumption- and emission improvements accompany a 20 percent higher torque value, which works from 1,250 revolutions on. Also new are variable inspection intervals, which were extended to up to two years or 60,000 kilometers.
A six-speed automatic transmission can be selected for all Transit models with front-wheel drive as well as for the Transit Custom. The car manufacturer also introduces more assistant systems for both its van series at the same time as the new Ford Ecoblue engines. These include a collision warning system, a cross wind assistant, a traffic sign recognition system as well as an adaptive speed control. Also new is the optional rear axle air suspension for the Transit Custom station wagon 310 L1 and for the Tourneo Custom 310 L1.
