Service card provider W.A.G payment solutions is already active in 17 European countries. Now it is going on the offensive in Germany with the brand Eurowag – with the goal of extending in-transit service offerings.
According to its own figures, this owner-managed Czech provider is growing at a rate of 25% annually. The service company intends to gain fans in Germany with a one-stop-shopping concept. W.A.G. payment solutions bundles services to make the payment of fuels, tolls, vehicle washing and fines more economical, as well as the claiming of tax rebates.
This includes a toll payment service for 17 countries at time of publication. According to Eurowag itself, the company is one of only six in possession of a European Electronic Toll Service license – referred to as the EETS. Another feature is that the company is also active as a fuel wholesaler. This all contributes to ensuring that customers profit from much more affordable and, crucially, stable prices.
W.A.G. was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Prague. Its turnover in 2016 amounted to over 925 million euros. The majority shareholder is Martin Vohánka, the company’s founder and manager to this day. Private investment firm TA Associates is also invested in the business, and possesses a 33 percent stake.
