Daimler telematics subsidiary FleetBoard presents new solutions at the transport logistic trade fair. With nxtload, for example, the Stuttgart-based company has developed a meta search engine for freights.
There are approximately 200 freight exchange markets in Europe. „We need a platform that combines all these platforms,“ explains Dr. Daniela Gerd tom Markotten, managing director of Daimler FleetBoard (hall 6, exhibition stand 201/302) in the run-up to the trade fair. Nxtload was developed for just that purpose. Well integrated is the data of Polish market leader Trans.eu, as well as the Belgian provider Teleroute, market leader in France. More is to follow. Amongst others, FleetBoard is in discussion with Saloodo, subsidiary of KEP service provider DHL. The goal is a better utilization and higher efficiency. „Savings of just 100 kilometers per month per truck would mean a gain in efficiency of three percent on average,“ said Gerd tom Markotten. Hidden behind Fleetboard FuelHub is a digital marketplace for fuels which targets forwarding agents with their own fuel station. Until now, the person responsible had to require offers, compare them and commission the chosen service provider. He could never be sure if he was getting a good deal.
The process is completely different with Fleetboard FuelHub. Here, all that needs to be done is to put the amount and type of fuel needed, as well as date of delivery and location. The oil providers can now make their bids based on this data and the forwarding agent can choose the best offer. Daimler FleetBoard wants to tackle the heaps of paper with the open cloud platform SMARGO. Because a myriad of freight-, customs- and delivery documents, as well as material safety data sheets, entry- or also special permits can always be found in the driver cabins. The drivers must assign those respective documents to the proper freight. This analog processing of transport orders is a slow and erroneous procedure.
