At IAA Commercial Vehicles, Voith explains the usage of the disconnectable and efficiency increasing Secondary Water Retarder (SWR) for buses and trucks.
One of Voith's major topics at IAA are "innovations for efficiency increase through disconnectable powertrains". For Voith (hall 17, booth A14) these innovations include the Secondary Water Retarder (SWR) for busses and trucks. The disconnectable SWR uses a hydrodynamic braking system with the engine's cooling agent as its operating medium. Another Voith highlight are the new air compressors with 'TwinSave' technology or coupling and the DIWA.6 automatic transmission with Stop-Start technology. Moreover, Voith shows solutions for the re-manufacturing of worn components, such as transmissions and retarders, and presents innovations from its group division Voith Digital Solutions.
