The Swedes supplement their portfolio with two vehicles with alternative drive. This includes a Scania with liquid-natural-gas-drive and a hybrid vehicle, which is now available in Euro-6-version.
In addition to the brand new R- and S-series, Scania moves a vehicle fuelled by liquefied natural gas (LNG) into the spotlight at their IAA-booth, perfect for long-distance use, as well as Scania’s unique hybrid truck, which meets the Euro 6 emission standards. This vehicle is designed for the use of hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO) and ensures silent and emission-free driving in a purely electric operating state. The burning of natural gas is always clean and almost free of particles. Stored as LNG, natural gas doesn’t need big reservoirs to achieve ranges equal to diesel vehicles. The hybrid vehicle operates with diesel as well as purely electrical, depending on the location, and therefore emission-free. It is authorized to use HVO with diesel drive, which continuously improves the carbon footprint.
