For Mercedes, the KEP study Vision Van takes center stage for innovations at the international commercial vehicle trade fair IAA.

Daimler (halls 14 and 15) presents their future strategy Mercedes Advance with the KEP-study Vision Van. The automobile group wants to develop from supplier of vans to provider of customer-oriented overall system solutions.

In addition, Mercedes presents the Sprinter – in one version – with a permissible total weight of 5.5 tons. Furthermore, the Swabians brought the engine OM651 up to the emission standard Euro 6, and thereby took the opportunity of breathing more engine power and torque into the engine’s first two performance levels. The entry-level variant of the engine now offers 114 PS (84 kW) instead of the former 95 PS (70 kW). The maximum torque amounts to 300 newton meters at 2.200 revolutions per minute. The next performance level, with so far 129PS (95 kW), now lies at 143 PS (105 kW) and develops a maximum torque of 330 newton meters (so far 300) at 2.200 revolutions per minute. No less exciting are the innovations which Mercedes offers overall in the van segment. Especially included are assistance, connectivity and services.
