At the international commercial vehicle trade fair IAA, Iveco presents a new Daily, which isn’t only lower in emissions but also sports a stronger engine.
The successful facelift and a dash of telematics round it all off. The Italians get their combustion engines up to Euro-6 standard with two measures: the diesel generators with 2.3 liter displacement keep the nitrogen oxides in check with a low-pressure exhaust system. They are diverted behind the particulate filter, cooled and subsequently fed back into the engine. This can’t be achieved with the larger, three-liter diesel engines. For these, a selective cataclytic reduction (SCR) with urea injection is necessary. The AdBlue consumption lies at three liters per 100 kilometers and the AdBlue tank holds 25 liters.
New App "Business Up"
Iveco will also offer an optional SCR exhaust cleaning for the smaller engines as of next year. Furthermore, the Daily will be available with electric drive only, as well as in a CNG-version.The driver is able to connect a smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. A new App called "Business Up" can be used, amongst other things, as driving instructor or to communicate trip information and fuel saving tips.
