Nils Buchmann: We are particularly interested in exhibitors and companies that deal with the decarbonization of fleets in heavy goods transport. We also want to find out about innovative technologies in logistics that contribute to the digitalization of the industry and increase efficiency. Our focus is on learning about forward-looking solutions and concepts that help us to make our own processes more sustainable and efficient.
Our current fleet uses REEFUEL Bio-LNG, a renewable and CO2-reduced fuel product that already enables significant CO2 savings. By switching to REEFUEL, we have taken an important step towards decarbonizing our transport operations. Nevertheless, we are open to new technologies and would like to obtain comprehensive and neutral information about the various options, including electric trucks and fuel cell trucks. Both technologies offer promising approaches and it is our aim to understand and evaluate the potential of each option. This is particularly important to further decarbonize the pre- and on-carriage of our intermodal transports. Our approach is to use the best available technologies to achieve our environmental goals while meeting the efficiency and reliability requirements of the logistics industry.
Currently, our focus is not primarily on charging or refueling infrastructure for electric or fuel cell trucks. We do not consider these technologies to be mature enough at the moment and feel that they are less suitable for our areas of application. For us, the use of bio-LNG in combination with rail transport is currently particularly relevant, as this solution is already tried and tested and reliable and, as already mentioned, our fleet uses REEFUEL bio-LNG. At the trade fair, we are therefore particularly interested in suppliers who specialize in Bio-LNG in order to find out about new developments in this area.
