Kia is redefining the abbreviation PBV (Purpose-built Vehicle), which is commonly used for special vehicles, as "Platform Beyond Vehicle".

The four studies PV5 High Roof Concept, PV5 People Mover Concept, PV5 32 Concept and PV7 Concept are intended to hint at what the vans of the future could look like. These are the future PV5 and PV7 models. These will be fully electric, connected and adaptable. According to Kia, it is pursuing a revolutionary strategy in the light commercial vehicle market. The launch of the first series model is planned for summer 2025. Kia's PBVs are designed to be ideal for use in the B2B sector as well as by private customers. As comprehensive mobility solutions, they will uniquely combine fit-for-purpose electric vehicles with advanced software solutions, over-the-air updates, best-in-class dimensions and cargo capacity, excellent maneuverability and a low step-in height.

The studies presented are intended to show how the flexible and versatile PBVs take a customer-oriented approach. According to Kia, an electric platform that can be adapted to different mobility needs is set to transform logistics and transportation.

Kia will be represented for the first time at the IAA TRANSPORTATION in Hanover from September 17 to 22. The four PBV studies will also celebrate their European premieres there.
