Following Dr. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, also visited the exhibitors at the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024. He visited the stands of Daimler Truck, Bosch, Continental and MAN Truck & Bus, among others, to find out about their products. Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), accompanied him on his tour.
The main focus was on sustainability. Habeck took the wheel of the eActros 600 from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, for example. At the stand of technology company Bosch, Stefan Grosch, Member of the Board of Management and Labour Director at Bosch, informed him about the topics of battery electrics and hydrogen mobility. At the MAN Truck & Bus stand, Dr. Frederik Zohm, Executive Board Member for Research & Development at MAN Truck & Bus, explained to Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, the charging process of the MAN eTGX.
‘The industry is clear: we can provide competitive vehicles that run without fossil fuels. We can shape the future. That is the signal from the IAA TRANSPORTATION’, said Habeck.
