Under the motto “drive the road of change”, IVECO, the commercial vehicle brand of the Iveco Group, wants to drive the change in the sector. This is why the Italian vehicle manufacturer is presenting its new multi-drive strategy at the IAA TRANSPORTATION. This is to be supported by a growing partner ecosystem, an integrated service portfolio and the promotion of innovations.

Various commercial vehicles will therefore be on display at the IVECO stand to showcase the range of vehicles with alternative drive systems. These include vehicles powered by HVO and biomethane. Battery-electric and hydrogen-powered versions will also be on display.

Above all, IVECO will be presenting the new S-eWay Rigid series. At the IAA in Hanover, the Italian vehicle manufacturer is presenting the multi-functional chassis in 4x2 and 6x2 axle configurations, which should make the e-truck versatile in urban and regional applications. A scalable battery concept is available for the electric vehicle to suit its intended use. The 70 kWh base module is available with 280, 350 or 490 kWh. The battery modules can also be attached to the frame in different ways. This makes it possible, for example, to keep one side of the vehicle free or to attach hydraulic supports to the vehicle. Neither the electric motor nor the drive shaft should be disturbed in the process. There are also three different auxiliary drives. The e-truck also offers a choice of different cabs, suspension types, suspensions and wheelbases.

With the 490 kWh battery, the total range should be up to 400 kilometers

With a charging break of 45 minutes, the range can be extended by 200 km. A CCS 2 charging connection is installed, which enables DC fast charging of up to 350 kW. With the 490 kWh battery, the total range should be up to 400 kilometers. An electric axle from Fiat Power Train drives the S-eWay Rigid. Up to 480 kW of continuous power is available with a maximum torque of 1,800 Newton meters. Trailer operation is also possible up to a gross vehicle weight of 44 tons.

To keep energy management under control, seven regenerative brakes ensure energy recovery during braking. Various driving programs such as Eco mode adapt the performance to the different types of use. The GPS-based Predictive Drive and ePredictive Cruise Control with Smart Routing provide additional support. Furthermore, the electric light commercial vehicle developed with Hyundai, the eMoovy, is also celebrating its premiere. The vehicle is equipped with an 800-volt system, has a range of up to 320 kilometers and can recharge up to 100 kilometers in 10 minutes. A V2L connection also enables external devices to be charged.

IVECO can be found in Hall 24 at stand C10. In the Test Drive Area, it is also possible to test drive the vehicles yourself. The range extends from light to medium to heavy-duty trucks. These include the new generation of the Iveco S-Way with semi-autonomous PlusDrive technology.
