Toyota shows the eighth generation of the Hilux pick-up at the international commercial vehicle trade fair IAA.
The 2016-model year pick-up presents itself with surprising qualities. In future, a 2.4-liter diesel as well as a 2.8-liter TD (1GD-FTV) will replace the previous engines with 2.5 and 3.0 liter displacement. The new turbo diesels manage 162 PS and 400 newton meter torque, as well as 177 PS and 450 newton meter torque, respectively. Toyota will give more space at the fair booth to the new Proace. The van is based on the new PSA platform, on which Peugeot’s Expert and Citroën’s Jumpy models are also based. The Japanese car manufacturer will present the box van as well as the estate-version for passenger transport in Hannover. Furthermore, a new telematics solution is employed by Toyota in the new Proace.
