At this year’s transport logistic trade fair in Munich – taking place May 9-12, the focus has been heavily placed on digital processes. The advantages that these bring the logistics sector are being presented by a plethora of telematics and TMS (transport management system) providers.

Initions (hall B2, booth 512) is showcasing its IX Optimizer – an automated route planning module for the Opheo transport management system. According to Initions, the IX Optimizer can be used for a wide range of transport and vehicle types. It rapidly calculates optimized route suggestions, which – depending on the user’s goal – minimize driving time, route distance and delays. This has the added effect of helping reduce CO2 emissions. The module is based on a self-learning algorithm. Using this algorithm, the planning process is able to calculate thousands of route plans and make individual changes to them to provide marginal improvements in an instant.
