The vehicle manufacturer Toyota is entering the large van class for the first time in Europe with the new Proace Max from Toyota Professional. The Proace Max will be available in numerous body variants and combines high payload and generous cargo space with performance and efficiency.
Like the other models in the Proace family, the Proace Max is also available with a battery-electric drivetrain with a range of up to 420 kilometers (WLTP combined). The large van is also available with three different diesel engines. The entry-level version comes with a 2.2-liter engine with 88 kW (120 hp) and 320 Newton meters of torque, which is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The mid-range engine is a 103 kW (140 hp) version of the 2.2-liter engine. The maximum torque here is 350 Newton meters. The top diesel variant has a 132 kW (180 hp) unit with an 8-speed automatic transmission. There will be numerous conversion variants for the Transporter. This means that a lot is possible in terms of individualization.
Toyota offers original accessories with full manufacturer's warranty for conversion options. In addition to the regular version as a panel van with single or crew cab, the Proace Max can be supplied ex works as a chassis with ladder frame or flat floor. Both versions are available in lengths of 5,943 millimetres and 6,308 millimetres. It will also be available ex works as a platform truck.
Single and three-way tippers will soon round off the range
Single and three-way tippers will soon round off the range - with a choice of single or double cabs. Further special adaptations can also be made by conversion companies. Toyota will support and professionalize this business with a certification programme for selected partners. In cooperation with Stellantis, the first customer deliveries of the panel van are scheduled for September.
In addition to the new Proace Max, Toyota is also offering the updated, medium-sized Proace van, the compact Proace City and the respective Verso passenger car variants, all of which feature the new striking Proace family design. There are also a number of technical innovations, a diverse selection of drive variants and even battery-electric versions with a range of up to 350 kilometers.
In addition, the Hilux pick-up will be equipped with a 48V mild hybrid system for the first time next year, which should offer increased driving comfort both in the city and off-road.
The Hilux is also getting the Multi-Terrain Select System
The hybrid variant enables smooth acceleration and brake energy recovery. The Hilux is also getting the Multi-Terrain Select System for the first time. This adjusts drive systems such as traction, suspension and brake pressure to improve traction, maneuverability and stability in different driving conditions. A section of the Toyota stand will be dedicated to Toyota's hydrogen mobility solutions, including a Fuel Cell Hilux prototype and fuel cell systems that will be made available to other OEMs for integration into trucks, buses or other means of transportation.
Toyota will also be offering a test drive on the nearby test site at the IAA TRANSPORTATION by appointment. KINTO Mobility, Toyota Financial Services and Toyota Insurance Services will complete the Toyota Professional range. Their services will also be presented at the Toyota stand.
