What could be more appropriate for an award ceremony in the commercial vehicle industry than the largest platform IAA TRANSPORTATION? None at all. And that is precisely why the Stars of the Year event brought prestigious awards across almost all segments to the press day. The winners: the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600, the newly crowned International Truck of the Year, the MAN hTGX, the winner of the Truck Innovation Award, the Solaris Urbino 18 hydrogen, the International Bus of the Year, and the Renault Master series, the International Van of the Year. In addition, the trailer industry also impressed with its clever developments. The International Trailer Award shows that the individual solutions are specifically tailored to the respective application cases. It is presented in no fewer than seven categories.
In the Body class, Schmitz Cargobull prevailed with the S.KOe COOL. In the chassis category, Kässbohrer took first place with the 12-15 Flexi Curtainsider. In the Components category, Fliegl won an award with the D-Lock door retainer. In the Concept category, Kögel won with the Cool Liteshell. In the Environment category, Thermo King took first place with the A-500e Spectrum AxlePower. The Safety category went to SDG Modultechnik with the folding and telescopic underrun protection TKU. The winner in the Smart Trailers is Krone with the Smart Assistant.
Philipp Bönders, Chairman of the Jury of the International Trailer Award, was pleased with the large number of winners: “I am delighted that so many guests from the commercial vehicle industry made their way to Hall 18 this evening. The event was a resounding success – exactly the right setting for this important industry award.”
Hildegard Müller, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), was also enthusiastic about the event: “The IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024 impressively demonstrates how committed the commercial vehicle industry is to progress towards climate-neutral digital mobility of the future with innovative technologies and future-oriented concepts.
