The Opel Movano with the Electric suffix can already be ordered as an electric vehicle. However, Opel is now adding the Movano Hydrogen to its range of transporters. As the name suggests, the vehicle runs on hydrogen. The new drive concept with a fuel cell is intended to be suitable for both work and everyday use.

With its combination of hydrogen fuel cell drive and a plug-in battery, the large van can cover a range of over 500 kilometers (WLTP). The vehicle can also be refueled in just five minutes. The electric motor offers 110 kW (150 PS) of power and a maximum torque of 410 Newton meters. The 11 kWh lithium-ion battery provides support when starting or accelerating.

This hybrid system also makes it possible to recover braking energy. This can in turn be fed back into the battery as electricity via the electric motor or generator (recuperation). This makes the vehicle even more efficient in terms of consumption. The drive technology and the hydrogen tanks are housed in such a way that the van retains its large loading area. Depending on the variant, it can stow 13 m3 (L3H2) or even up to 17 m3 (L4H3) of cargo and carry a total of 1370 kilograms of additional weight.

Opel is also presenting the Combo Electric with a fresh new look. The new edition of the compact commercial vehicle comes with a new front and Opel's trademark Vizor. Another new feature is the Intelli-Lux Matrix light, which the Vivaro is the first to bring to this segment, according to Opel. In addition, the electric vehicle offers a range of 354 kilometers (WLTP), almost 80 kilometers more than its predecessor. Opel's smallest model, the Rocks Electric, will also be appearing at the IAA TRANSPORTATION with a cargo kit. With dimensions of 2.41 x 1.39 x 1.52 meters, the mini-electric vehicle has a modularly divisible cargo space in place of the front passenger seat.
